Professor Anil Kumar Anal recently published research article “Edible Multilayer Coating Using Electrostatic Layer-by-Layer Deposition of Chitosan and Pectin Enhances Shelf Life of Fresh Strawberries” in International Journal of Food Science and Technology published by Wiley (IF: 3.713; CiteScore: 5.1).
In this paper, an innovative approach using cutting-edge Nanotechnology using Layer-by Layer (LbL) method to develop multilayered coating from biomaterials to enhance the shelf life of fresh fruit and vegetables has been carried out. The nanolayer coating by chitosan and pectin over the fresh strawberries improved the shelf life significantly.
In our lab, one of our main research themes is to develop bio-based edible coating, packaging systems by using cutting-edge technology for more sustainable, and eco-friendly. Cngratulations Miss Manita Adhikari (currently pursuing PhD in Arkansas University, USA) for excellent work during her Master thesis and made possible to publish in such high impact factor Journal. Also hearty congratulations and thank to Mr Sushil Koirala (Research Associate, FEBT/ FINH, AIT) for his help and support towards this publication.
