Successful Completion of Visit to SEARCA

I had the privilege of visiting SEARCA and meeting with Center Director Dr. Glen Gregorio and other senior colleagues on December 8, 2023. It was an inspiring day with a visionary leader and engaging discussions about potential collaborations.

We explored numerous opportunities for joint efforts in areas such as food security, nutrition, and health, aligning with relevant SDGs. Our discussions focused on sustainable food systems, including postharvest food safety, nutritionally-enhanced commodities, indigenous fermented and underutilized foods, and agro-industrial waste management. We also touched upon bio-circular green economy initiatives and technology transfer, as well as intellectual property considerations.

I extend my sincere thanks to SEARCA and the entire team for their warm hospitality and valuable time. I look forward to the possibilities of future collaborations.
