On June 6, 2024, I had the honor of attending a pivotal event marking a significant milestone in advancing food technology and post-harvest R&D in Cambodia. The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and the Food Technology, Research, and Innovation Platform (FTRIP) officially entered into a strategic partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration, generously funded by the European Union (EU), was formalized during the 13th Scientific Day and 1st Symposium on Food Technology, Research, and Innovation.
As the Chair of the Food Innovation, Nutrition, and Health (FINH) Academic Program at AIT, I was delighted to witness this significant step towards enhancing research and development in Cambodia’s food sector. This partnership aims to leverage our combined expertise to innovate and improve post-harvest technologies, ensuring food security and sustainability in the region.
