I am thrilled to share that my students Mr. Ranjit Singh (PhD candidate), Mr. Daniel Rice (Master’s student), Ms. Manisha Anand (PhD candidate), and Ms. Dipika Trivedi (PhD candidate) from the Food Engineering and Bioprocess Technology (FEBT) and Food Innovation, Nutrition, and Health (FINH) programs at the Asian Institute of Technology have won FIRST prize in the competition “Innovate for Impact: Solutions to Combat Plastic Pollution in Rivers and Canals,” organized by AIT.
Their innovative project focused on developing a prototype for an edible pouch designed to replace the excessive packaging used in Ready-to-Cook (RTC) and Ready-to-Eat (RTE) noodles and similar food products. This biopolymer-based edible packaging prototype has already been developed and tested in our lab and is now ready for piloting and industry collaboration.
Congratulations to my students for their outstanding achievement. I am incredibly proud of their dedication and innovative solutions to combat plastic pollution.
