Expert and Speaker at Regional Workshop on Marine Plastic Litter

I am honored to have been invited as an Expert and Speaker at the Regional Workshop on “Promotion of Action Against Marine Plastic Litter in Asia: Tools and Protocols for Riverine Plastic Pollution Monitoring,” held on October 16-17, 2023, at the Sukosol Hotel, Bangkok.

Workshop Overview

During this pivotal workshop, I presented on “The Impacts of Plastic Pollution and Microplastics on the Food Chain and Health.” My talk provided insights into the significant issues and challenges associated with plastic pollution and microplastics, particularly their effects on food systems and human health.

Event Significance

This workshop, organized by the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP), and the Global Partnership for Plastic Pollution and Marine Litter, was a valuable platform for discussing innovative tools and protocols for monitoring riverine plastic pollution. It was a pleasure to contribute to these critical discussions and share scientific knowledge on addressing the impacts of plastic pollution.
