I am delighted to share our latest publication, “Immunomodulation and Enhancing Immunity: Unveiling the Potential of Designer Diets,” in the Future Foods Journal (Elsevier; CiteScore: 4.0). This review paper explores the crucial role of bioactive molecules—such as proteins, peptides, essential fatty acids (e.g., Omega-3), vitamins, minerals, and probiotics—in enhancing immunity and promoting better health.
Key Highlights
- Focus on Bioactive Molecules: The paper provides an in-depth analysis of how these nutrients contribute to immune system function and overall health.
- Context of the Current Pandemic: It reflects on how immunocompromised individuals have been significantly impacted during the ongoing pandemic, emphasizing the importance of robust immunity.
- Origins and Motivation: The paper was conceptualized following insightful questions from Miss Anisha Karna, a final-year medical student at Chitwan Medical College (CMC), Nepal. Her curiosity about the relationship between these nutrients, immunity, and their mechanisms inspired this comprehensive review.
